The New York Yankees moved their Short Season Single-A operations to Staten Island, NY in 1999, after their affiliate, the Oneonta Yankees, had played at Damaschke Field in Oneonta, NY for 31 years from 1967 till 1998. While awaiting their new ballpark, Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George, near the Staten Island Ferry, to be completed, they played two seasons (1999 and 2000) at the College of Staten Island (CSI) as the Staten Island Yankees.
