Austria-Hungary was a dual-monarchic union state in central Europe from 1867 until 1918 when its territory was split among the countries of Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs (which would later become Yugoslavia).
