Biographical Information[edit]
Austin Turner attended Alabama A&M University from 2014-2017 and earned a degree in Political Science and Government. He also was a member of the baseball team for at least some of those years.
Prior to graduating, Austin founded Huntsville Baseball where he sought to train young baseball players. He stayed in this role through mid-2019 which overlapped with his next job. In the fall of 2018 Turner returned to his alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach. This job ended in March 2020 when college baseball shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A few months later he joined the John A. Logan College Volunteers as an assistant coach. Turner stayed in this position through 2021. Turner supplemented his Logan College work in the summer of 2021 by serving as an assistant coach with the Wilmington Sharks in the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League.
In 2022 the Milwaukee Brewers hired Turner as a hitting coach for their DSL Brewers 1 squad. He was hitting coach for the DSL Brewers 2 in 2023 and Carolina Mudcats in 2024.
