Biographical Information[edit]
Astyanax Douglass, who had one of baseball's most interesting names, was up in the majors in 1921 and 1925.
He hit .300 a couple of times in the minors.
"Astyanax", a name meaning king or overlord, derives from mythology. Astyanax was the son of Hector of Troy.
A different Astyanax Douglass (perhaps his grandfather?) was a prominent politician and doctor in the 1800s.
