Artillery Park
Artillery Park was a ballpark in Wilkes-Barre, PA from 1923 through 1955. Notable tenants included the Wilkes University Colonels and the Wilkes-Barre Barons. It became the location of Babe Ruth's longest home run on October 12, 1926. He hit it off of the supposed best pitcher in the area named Ernie Corkran, who was told to throw him his best stuff. [1]. Ruth's home run was 334' to left field, 362' to right and about 500' to center.
