Biographical Information[edit]

Artie Gore played shortstop in the New England League in 1928-1929.

Gore began his umpiring career in the Canadian-American League in 1937-1938. He then moved to the Eastern League (1939-1942) and International League (1942-1946). Gore was a National League umpire from 1947 to 1956.

Gore was fired a month after his 49th birthday to make room for younger umpires and because he "didn't fit the pattern". He worked as a deputy sheriff in Massachusetts after baseball.
