Biographical Information[edit]

Arthur Thomas was an absolutely huge man for his time, standing at 6'4", making him the right man for a catcher, which is the position he played during his career. He made his debut in 1886 with the Trenton Cuban Giants where he played until 1888. He was out of the league for a year but returned in 1890 with the York Monarchs and then played for the New York Gorhams in 1891. He was apparently known as a unique individual, most notable due to the fact that he would cry whenever his team would lose a game. He hit .301/.348/.430 (123 OPS+) with 42 runs in 49 games per the Seamheads database as of 1/30/2024.
