Biographical Information[edit]

Art Rasmussen played for Vancouver Beavers in the Northwestern League in 1911. He pitched in 27 games and won 15. His contract was purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fall of 1911. He was released to Allentown in the Tri-State League in the spring of 1912.

In 1919 he played for the Sioux City Indians. He appeared in 44 games and won 20 games. In 1920 he was 15-16 in 36 games.

At some point he was suspended from organized baseball. His June 1921 request for reinstatement was denied. By 1923 he was back in organized ball and was signed by the Sioux City Packers. In 1924 he managed the Lincoln Links for part of the year. In 1926 he played for Evansville Hubs in the Three-I League and had a 9-6 record in 18 games.

In 1928 he was named manager of the York Dukes in the Nebraska State League. The team wound up in 5th place with a 38-62 record. He continued as manager of York in 1929. He had an 8-9 record as a pitcher and the team wound up in 4th place with a 61-53 record. 1930 was his last year as manager of the Dukes. He had a 4-7 record on the mound and the team was once again in 4th place with a 60-59 record.
