Biographical Information

Art Pontarelli has been a college coach and a scout.

Pontarelli was a P-1B in college and also played basketball. He taught at Ponaganset High School from 1971-1997. He was assistant coach at Rhode Island College from 1976-1980 then was head coach from 1981-1984. He was head coach of the Community College of Rhode Island from 1984-1992; his products included Rheal Cormier. He scouted for the Colorado Rockies (1992-2007) and the New York Mets (2007- ).
