He was born, and died, in Worcester, MA. Much of his minor league career was spent in the New England League. When he was with the Worcester team in 1908 he was managed by Jesse Burkett.
The Sporting Life reported that he injured his left hand in June 1914.
The Sporting Life of January 8, 1916 reported on a deal that fell through around 1913. LaVigne supposedly refused to report when Lowell sold him to Memphis, and a dispute arose as to who owed money to whom.
