Biographical Information[edit]
Art López appeared in 38 games with the New York Yankees in 1965. He was also on the Toledo Mud Hens in 1965 and 1966. He later played successfully for years in Japan.
He was born in Puerto Rico in the same year that Orlando Cepeda was born there. He grew up in New York, NY and in his remembrances [1] he recalls that he was in the Navy from 1954 to 1958 and then was working in a bank when he got a chance for a tryout with the Yankees. He also played on the Nicaragua team in 1963 and the Dominican team in 1964 which won the Latin American Series.
