Biographical Information[edit]

Arnol Rizo has played for the Nicaraguan national team.

Rizo debuted in Nicaragua's top amateur league in 2011, hitting .306/.408/.354 for León. [1] In '12, he fell to .258/.405/.305. He did tie for the league lead with 13 sacrifice hits and led with 57 walks. [2] During 2013, he rebounded to .305/.427/.389 with 61 runs in 93 games. He again led in walks (56). In 2014, he had his best year yet at .377/.516/.549 with 85 walks and 110 runs in 97 contests. He led in walks for the 3rd year in a row, shattering Prospero Baca's 16-year-old record by 16. He also broke Julio Medina's run record of 103, the only prior player to top 100. His nine triples tied Darrell Walters for the lead as well. He remained strong in 2015 at .356/.533/.473 with a league-high 54 walks in 53 games, while scoring 49 times.

He made Nicaragua's team for the 2015 Pan American Games, but went 0 for 3 while backing up Dwight Britton in center field. [3] In 2016, he hit .335/.471/.406 with 82 runs and a league-best 65 walks in 94 games. His run of walk titles ended in 2017, when he batted .343/.473/.448 with 79 runs and 49 walks in 80 games. Things fell off after that as he hit .287/.443/.322 in 2018, .156/.333/.178 in 2019 and .143/.323/.195 in 30 games in 2020 (still with 19 walks and 19 runs).
