Biographical Information[edit]

Arnaldo Hernández was the father of Orlando Hernández, Livan Hernández and Arnaldo Hernández Jr. His number 26 and his nickname (Duque) would be carried over by Orlando. In nine years in Cuba, the slick-fielding, light-hitting Hernández hit .238/~.317/.307 and stole 29 bases in 38 tries. From 1981-1984, he led Isla de la Juventud to a 68-108 record. He managed Las Tunas in 1984-1985 and 1985-1986, going only 40-83.
