Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Army Magness in 1917 and from 1920 to 1928. His statistical record is incomplete, however it is known he had a few solid seasons. In 1921, he hit .321 in 97 games for the Drumright Oilers in 1921 and in 1922, he had 18 triples and 25 doubles in 134 games for the Springfield Midgets.
In 1926, he managed the Savannah Indians, replacing William Holland partway through the season. He was the first of three skippers for the Hamlin Pied Pipers/Big Spring Springers in 1928, being replaced by Poston Baker.
