Armando Sánchez González

Armando Sánchez played 10 seasons in the Cuban Serie Nacional, third of the illustrious Sánchez brothers, behind Wilfredo Sánchez and Fernando Sánchez and ahead of Arturo Sánchez and Felipe Sánchez. An infielder, Armando fielded .935 and batted .263/.315/.335. He wound up with the same career average as Arturo. Playing alongside Wilfredo on the Henequeneros, he was named Rookie of the Year in 1968-1969, the third player to take home that award (and the only one of the brothers to do so). He led the Serie Nacional with six triples in 1969-1970; Wilfredo was the only other brother to pace the league in three-baggers, having set the record the prior campaign.
