Biographical Information[edit]
Armando Paytuví was the starting left fielder for the Cuban national team that won Gold in the 1930 Central American Games. He hit .250 with 3 runs scored and handled four putouts error-free; his big day was a 3-for-4 with two doubles against Bronze Medalist Panama. [1] He was a backup infielder for champion Marianao in the 1936-1937 Cuban Winter League, going 6 for 24 at the plate and swiping three bases. He pitched one game and took the loss. [2] The next winter, he went 3 for 15 for Marianao and scored four runs. [3] He played briefly for the 1939 Wilson Tobs in the US.
