Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Arleene Johnson (she took the surname Noga after her playing career ended) played for the Fort Wayne Daisies (1945, 1948) and Muskegon Lassies (1946-1948) of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She slashed .164/.240/.207 with 3 home runs, 103 RBI and 123 stolen bases in 354 games. Indeed, speed was her primary asset -- in her final campaign, she had 51 swipes in 115 games. She played over 300 consecutive games at third base, thus earning her nickname.
She had been an outstanding softball player in her native Saskatchewan before turning to baseball, and after he pro baseball career. She won nine provincial softball titles while living in Regina, SK. She also served as a member of the board of directors of the AAGPBL Players Association for 12 years and was a spokesperson for Canadian AAGPBL women.
She is a member of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and in 2025 was individually inducted in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, joining Helen Callaghan in receiving the honour among former AAGPBL players, after all of the women who played in the league had been inducted collectively in 1998.
