Biographical Information

A shortstop, Archie Manning was taken in the third round of the 1971 Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox, the fourth time he had been drafted, but did not sign. He went on to a great career as a NFL quarterback, mainly with the New Orleans Saints, and his two sons, Peyton and Eli followed him to football fame.
