Biographical Information[edit]
Arch McCarthy pitched for the Detroit Tigers in 1902. He went 2-7 in 10 games pitched. He also had several years in the minors, most notably putting up a record of 14-11 for the 1905 Montreal Royals.
While he was born in Michigan, his World War I draft registration card has him living and working on a railroad yard at Gallitzin, PA, although his nearest relative is a sister living in Detroit, MI. There is no trace of him after that date, making it possible that he died in the influenza pandemic that swept the United States in 1918 and 1919.
