Angel Díaz pitched for 12 years in Cuba.

Díaz went 9-2 for Habana to lead the 1981 Series Selectivas in winning percentage. He threw a no-hitter for the Industriales on January 16, 1982. He went 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA for the Cuban national team in the 1984 Amateur World Series. His five appearances were second on the team after Jorge Luis Valdés. The loss came against runner-up Taiwan when he started and surrendered three runs in one inning before being yanked.

Overall, Angel was 112-74 with 9 saves and a 3.24 ERA in 284 games. He completed 100 of 218 starts, including 23 shutouts.
