Biographical Information[edit]

Andy Phillips was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 7th round of the 1999 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Leon Wurth and made his pro debut that summer.

Phillips hit a game-winning home run in the tenth inning of the 2004 AAA All-Star Game.

After his playing career, Phillips returned to the University of Alabama as an assistant coach in 2011.

He is a first cousin of catcher Paul Phillips, who was also a teammate of his at the University of Alabama.
