Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Andy Araujo played in the Boston Red Sox system from 1981 to 1989. Though he never reached the major leagues, he spent 1987 to 1989 at Triple A. He was signed by scout Ramon Naranjo.
One particularly notable season was 1985, when he went 12-10 with a 2.55 ERA in 32 games (25 starts) and walked just 33 in 176 1/3 innings for the Winter Haven Red Sox. The next year, he had ten complete games for the New Britain Rock Cats. In his first taste of Triple A, in 1987, he was 4-7 with a 3.44 ERA in 43 games (five starts).
Overall, Araujo went 50-68 with a 3.69 ERA in 302 games (106 starts).
