Andrey Semenov pitched for the Ukrainian national team in the 1997 European Championship; at 1-0, 2.57, he led their qualifiers in ERA. He was back with them for the 2001 European Championship, going 1-1 with a 8.74 ERA in four games (two starts). He led Ukraine in games pitched and was second to Anatoliy Korolov in starts and IP (21 1/3 to 11 1/3). He led the Euros with four wild pitches and tied Ivica Anić, Marc Cerbone, Claus Hendricks, Dirk Fries and Radek Procházka for 2nd in games pitched, one behind Dave Draijer.
