Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Andrew Sisco was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the second round of the 2001 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Al Geddes and made his pro debut that summer.
After the 2004 season, Sisco was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 2004 Rule V Draft. Despite never playing above Class A, he made the Royals' Opening Day roster in 2005 and remained a part of their bullpen for the entire season, going 2-5 with a 3.11 ERA. However, he struggled in 2006, posting a 7.10 ERA in 65 games, and was traded to the Chicago White Sox for Ross Gload following the season.
In 2007, Sisco made the Sox Opening Day roster as a part of the White Sox's bullpen. However, he struggled, going 0-1 with an 8.36 ERA in 19 games in April and May. He spent the remainder of the year with the AAA Charlotte Knights, where he went 3-6 with a 4.35 ERA while primarily a member of the club's starting rotation. He never pitched again in the majors after that.
At 6 feet, 10 inches, Sisco was the tallest man to ever play for the Royals. Chris Young has since matched him.
