Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Andrew Leenhouts began his professional career in 2012.

He was originally drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 43rd round of the 2011 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He did sign after being taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 23rd round of the 2012 amateur draft.

With the AZL Giants his first campaign, he went 3-1 with a 4.38 ERA in 37 innings, striking out 60 batters -- an average of 14.6 per nine innings. In 15 starts with the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in 2013, he went 9-2 with a 2.39 ERA, though his K rate dropped to 6.7 per nine frames. He was a Northwest League Mid-Season All-Star that year. In 2014, he went 3-4 with a 4.75 ERA in 18 games (11 starts) for Salem-Keizer, averaging nearly a strikeout per inning.
