The Anderson Giants replaced the Anderson Senators and preceded the Anderson Tigers in a rapid shift of affiliations for the Anderson team in the Western Carolinas League. In their only year, they were went 51-81-1 as a co-op club thanks to a 24-42 first half. Managed by Max Lanier, they drew 29,409 fans (third in the league) and had no All-Stars. Among the teams supplying talent was the Atlanta Braves. Jim A. Sanders (5-2, 2.25, 31 H, 70 K in 56 IP) did a great job for the bad team, while the top offensive player was Royals OF prospect Orestes Minoso (.301/~.393/.419 with 24 steals in 30 tries in 66 games).
