Amstel Tijgers

The Amstel Tijgers were once members of the Hoofdklasse. They won pennants in 1979, 1980 and 1986. They were based out of Amsterdam. They split off from OVVO from 1977 and merged with HCAW in 1989. They also finished second at the European Cup in 1980, the best finish by a Dutch team in five years during a rough era for the country. Harvey Shapiro coached their champion teams in 1979-1980. Louis Hofer was head coach in 1988.
