Alien Mora was 53-45 with a 4.38 ERA in 7 seasons in Cuba through 2007-2008. The Ciego de Ávila right-hander was 9-3 with a 3.87 ERA in 2008-2009. He was put on Cuba's preliminary 58-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup but did not make the final cut.

In 2009-2010, Mora fell to 6-7 with 3 saves and a 6.04 ERA, allowing a .339 average.

On March 3, 2010, Mora retired the first 26 batters against Guantánamo in a playoff game. He then went 2-2 on Onelkis Escalante but had his perfect game ruined by a single. He finished with a one-hit shutout.
