Alexander Jorge Montero

Alexander Jorge was a longtime infielder for the Santiago de Cuba Wasps. He began as a shortstop and later moved to second base and then third. After 12 seasons in Cuba through 2003-2004, he had hit .306/.360/.405. In 2004-2005, Jorge was intentionally walked in the bottom of the 9th of game 7 of the finals with one on and one out of a 1-1 game; Santiago de Cuba went on to take the title by scoring three batters later.

Jorge was 22 for 79 with 4 doubles, a homer and 3 walks in 2007-2008, when the veteran backed up Ronnier Mustelier at the hot corner. It was his 15th and final season.
