Biographical Information[edit]

Alesky Perera has pitched for Isla de la Juventud.

Perera debuted in 2005-2006. The rookie had a rough start, giving up 16 walks, 27 hits and 16 runs in 17 innings that season. He gave up 5 runs (3 earned) in 9 2/3 IP in 2006-2007. In 2007-2008, he turned in a good year at 6-2, 3.50 with one save. He fell to 5-5, 5.00 with a save in 2008-2009. Things got worse yet in 2009-2010 when Perera was 0-8 with a 8.70 ERA and .358 opponent average.

Alesky rebounded slightly in 2010-2011. He again lost 8 but won 2 and his ERA fell to 6.13. He walked 35 in 54 1/3 IP, though. He continued to rebound in 2011-2012 with a 2-0, 4.37 season. On the last day of the campaign, he gave up Alfredo Despaigne's 36th home run, a single-season record, allowing Despaigne to break a tie with José Dariel Abreu.
