Aleš Hrabě started the precursor to the Czech Baseball Association and Czech Softball Association in 1963, when he led the new batting section of the Czech Sports Association. He remained honorary president of the CBA into the 2010s and was part of the first class of the Czech Baseball Hall of Fame.
