Umpire Alberto Ruiz started out in the Northwest League in 2010. By 2012, he was up to the AA Southern League and he made it to AAA with the 2014 Pacific Coast League. He worked the Venezuelan League in the winter of 2015-2016, then in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers.
