Biographical Information[edit]
Alan Yogi played three seasons in Nippon Pro Baseball. The Hawaiian hit .295/.376/.441 for the Hanshin Tigers in 1953, with 82 walks, 14 homers and 19 steals in 27 tries. He was 8th in the Central League in average and won Best Nine honors as the circuit's top third baseman. He fell to .257/.318/.342 with 4 homers in 1954, though he was 16-for-18 in steals. He returned to Japan with the 1957 Daiei Unions but struggled at .201/.255/.219 with no homers in 85 games. Overall, he had batted .263/.333/.362 in 337 games.
