Alain Sánchez was 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA for the Cuban national team that won Gold at the 2004 World Junior Championship. He had a 6-2, 3.16 record for the 2008-2009 Villa Clara Orangemen in the Cuban Serie Nacional, but started and lost game two of the finals against La Habana.

In 2009-2010, the right-hander fell to 2-2, 7.21 for Villa Clara with a .380 opponent average.
