Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Al Piechota played for the Boston Bees in 1940 and then returned to the club for just one game the following year before being drafted into the military.
After returning from his service in the Navy, he did not go back to baseball immediately but returned to play from 1947-51.
During his minor league career (which began in 1933) he won nearly 150 games.
He joined the Chicago Police Department and was a member of the force for more than 25 years.
