Biographical Information[edit]
Al Helfer was the voice of the baseball "Game of the Day" broadcast on the Mutual Radio Network from 1950 to 1954. Those games were carried throughout the United States in towns too small to provide their own baseball broadcasts.
He was posthumously named the winner of the Ford Frick Award in 2019.
