Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Al Bool, from Lincoln, NE, played three years in the majors. He had his most at-bats for the 1930 Pirates, where he backed up the young Rollie Hemsley. Bool hit .322 with 31 home runs for the 1929 Baltimore Orioles. Oddly, he was not much of a home run hitter in other years in the minors, although he did slug .449 with the 1930 Pirates.
