Biographical Information[edit]
A National League umpire from 1940 to 1970, Al Barlick worked seven World Series and seven All-Star Games. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on February 28, 1989 by the Committee on Baseball Veterans.
Barlick began his career in the Northeast Arkansas League in 1936. He worked the Piedmont League in 1937-1938, and the Eastern League in 1939. Barlick moved up to the International League in June, 1939 through 1940, making his major league debut in September 1940.
Barlick served in the Coast Guard in 1944-1945, and missed 1956-1957 seasons due to illness.
