Biographical Information

Akinobu Shimizu has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Shimizu tried out with the San Diego Padres after high school but did not win a contract. He was named MVP of the 2006 Aichi University League. The Chunichi Dragons took him in the sixth round of the 2006 NPB draft that year. He made it to the big club in 2008 and went 2-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 15 games. He had a 0-1, 3.86 record in eight outings in 2009 and had a 4.55 ERA and no decisions in 44 games in 2010.
