Biographical Information

Akihiro Maeda was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the 2002 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Hayato Terahara, but he spent pretty much his entire career in the NPB Farm Leagues. He never had more than 10 at-bats for the big club in a season, and he also played 2 games for the Estrellas Orientales in 2008. Maeda announced his retirement in 2013, and he coached Chunichi's minors team in 2014.
