Biographical Information[edit]

Adrian Brown had an incredible combination of good and bad luck in his major league career.

As a 48th round draft pick, he was nearly gone in only his second season in the minors, being loaned to another team's farm system to fill out a roster. But he persevered and, through a rash of injuries, made his major league debut in the Pittsburgh Pirates' last semi-competitive season of the 1990s, 1997. He got better each season and got more playing time until the Pirates opened their new ballpark in 2001. A shoulder injury that season kept him out of all but 8 games. His return in 2002 was not as good as he had been, and he spiraled out of the major leagues with quick stops with the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers.

A very good family man and father, Adrian has two sons and one daughter. His high school team won the state championship in 1992, his senior season.
