Biographical Information

Pitcher Adalberto Méndez had a great major league debut with the Florida Marlins on September 6, 2010. Starting the game against the Philadelphia Phillies, he gave up only one hit and no runs in 6 innings, walking 2 and striking out 6 to get the credit for his team's 7-1 win. He was 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA the rest of the year, though, and did not return to the majors (through June 2015).

Méndez was on the Dominican national team for the 2015 Pan American Games.
