Abe Arellanes

Abe Arellanes, the brother of Frank Arellanes, played semipro ball and professional ball in California. In 1898 he led the California League in batting. In 1900 he played for Oakland.
He is notable as being an early Hispanic-surnamed player.

The book Baseball in San Diego, quoted above, also has a photo of him with several teammates. The book mentions him playing ball for San Diego in a winter league.
The book Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk also has a photo of him from 1897.
