Biographical Information[edit]
Aaron Bossi was All-Conference USA as a senior in 2016, hitting .333/.380/.484. Signed by the New York Yankees as an undrafted free agent, he hit .333/.391/.474 in 22 games for the GCL Yankees East that summer, fielding .938 in 11 games at 2B and .923 in 9 games at Catcher. He also played for the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers of the independent United Shore League that year.
Bossi worked as a rehab assistant for the Yankees in 2017-2018. Some sources suggest he was a minor league coach in 2019, but this could not be confirmed. He was appointed defensive coach of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for 2020 and would likely have been younger than many of the team's players, but the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Bossi was the defensive coach for the Hudson Valley Renegades in 2021 and the Somerset Patriots in 2022-2024. In 2022 T.J. Rumfield earned the minor league Gold Glove Award honor for first base under Bossi’s tutelage. In 2023 the Patriots had a .980 fielding percentage, good for third in the Eastern League and fourth in all of Double-A. Bossi also serves as the team's first base coach and he helped lead Somerset to a Double-A best 256 stolen bases
