1961 Serie A

From BR Bullpen

The 1961 Serie A saw Milano repeat as titlists behind player-manager Luigi Cameroni, but after going into a one-game playoff last year for the title, this time they went unbeaten. Milano's Giulio Glorioso (who came over from 1960 rival Roma) not only won the pitching Triple Crown but also the batting title. He won all 18 games for Milano in an amazing performance, as the teams played one game per week from May to September. His 0.46 ERA stood as a record for 50 years before former major leaguer Darwin Cubillan posted a better mark.
