1958 NJCAA Baseball World Series

From BR Bullpen

The 1958 NJCAA Baseball World Series was held May 16-17 in Miami, OK. Rather than qualifying through preliminary tournaments, the eight teams were invited to participate, and came from nearby states - Colorado, Texas, Kansas, and the host state of Oklahoma, along with Arizona and Iowa a little further. Every team played 3 games, rather than the usual double-elimination format. Organizers failed to make a profit, and the tournament did not return to Miami the following year. Cameron State Agricultural College defeated Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in the championship game.
