The 1934 Nashville Elite Giants fell from their 1933 playoff appearance, falling below the middle of the pack.
The team had a solid infield for the most part with 3B Felton Snow hitting .376/.417/.426 (131 OPS+), SS Sammy Bankhead .338/.376/.405 (114 OPS+) and 2B Sammy Hughes .319/.374/.383 (110 OPS+). Also hitting well was LF Tom Parker at .300/.339/.450 (114 OPS+) and C Tommie Dukes at .287/.326/.414 (101 OPS+). Other position players used regularly were C/LF Nish Williams (.293/.352/.361, 95 OPS+), 1B Shifty Jim West (.240/.301/.298, 64 OPS+), 1B Granville Lyons (.300/.333/.350, 87 OPS+), SS Hoss Walker (.300/.391/.375, 110 OPS+), CF Red Parnell (.222/.276/.296, 56 OPS+) and RF Wild Bill Wright (.252/.313/.370, 86 OPS+).
While the team's 91 OPS+ was 5th in the league, their 110 ERA+ was good for third. Jim Willis (2-4, 2.65, 168 ERA+) and Andy Porter (8-6, 3.53, 126 ERA+) were the top two starters while Robert Griffith (2-3, 4.06, 110 ERA+), Henry Wright (1-4, 5.04, 89 ERA+) and Percy Miller (2-5, 6.20, 72 ERA+) were other hurlers with 5+ games pitched.
