Biographical Information[edit]
Óscar Sánchez was the backup catcher for the Mexican national team in the 1978 Amateur World Series, behind Francisco Nieto. He went 2 for 11 with a walk, double, sacrifice fly and RBI. He had 16 putouts, 2 assists and no errors and opponents stole 9 bases in 10 tries. He played for the Dorados de Chihuahua in 1980, going 10 for 51 with a triple, 5 walks, 7 runs and 2 RBI as a backup infielder (assuming the 1978 NT member and the 1980 Mexican Leaguer are the same player).
