Álvaro Ley López was president of the board of directors for the Tomateros de Culiacán when they won six Mexican Pacific League titles and two Caribbean Series. When he was inducted into the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025, he joined his brother Juan Manuel Ley López there; they were the first set of brothers to be so honored.
