Catchers Leading Off in the Post-Season

Catcher John Jaso batted lead-off for the Rays in Saturday's game vs. the Rangers. Jaso becomes the third different catcher to start a post-season game in the 1 hole. Here are all the previous games:

Kendall reached every game but one, but scored only once. A .303 OBP (unless I missed something) and 1 run? Not a good way to lead off. Bresnahan, on the other hand, appears to have been a good choice.

I wonder if Bresnahan was thinking about his WPA 105 years ago? 🙂
